Barcode time clocks, this will use a badge that will have a unique barcode on oneside of it, that will contain your employee information.

Magnetic stripe time clocks is almost the same as a barcode time clock, the only difference is the way that you check into work. With this system you will swipe your card through a terminal that is identical to a credit card terminal.

RFID (Proximity) time clocks, also uses badges, but with this one you will use this badge to clock into work, by waving it over a scanner. Almost like the scanners at the food market.

And last but far from least is a Biometric program, this attendance tracking program is the most affordable, making it the most widely used program. This will require you to use your fingerprint to clock into work and out of work.

The type of device that you choose will depend on a few different factors - the number of people that you employee, and your budget are the main factors. Other factors influencing the price include the number of locations to track, and the information reporting requirements. The different systems or devices begin at $500. When you are searching online you may find some that are offering you these devices for much cheaper, but you should remember this, sometimes you get what you pay for. Cheaper is not always better, and the same goes for the things that are the most expensive that doesn't always mean that it is the best. Doing an efficient amount of research before selecting your attendance tracking program will be the best thing for you to do.
