Attendance employee time tracking has been around for over a hundred years. You can thank IBM for that. Well kind of, let me explain.

William Bundy invented the first time clock in 1888 and his brother opened. Later the Bundy Manufacturing Company, which later on will become IBM, Pretty cool right. The idea of tracking attendance and employee's time has pretty much stayed the same. And there have been countless systems that have emerged to help automate this process.

Thanks to the advance in technology, computers and microchips have helped make these systems even better. Since the early 1990's we have had automated attendance employee time tracking systems. Although at first such systems have been available to and cost effective for larger businesses for several years. However, high price for the gear and privacy installation has made such systems unattainable for smaller companies and even for medium sized companies in the past. Recent changes in technology have made these systems affordable to all businesses.

The bottom line here is that all businesses can benefit from instant, accurate and tamper proof information. Just imagine tracking hours worked by everyone as well as overtime missed or late lunches all by clicking a button. Just think how many personnel hours you eliminate as well as inaccurate data entry, time card completion and buddy punching.

There are several different types of attendance employee time systems that are available for any size business: Barcode time clocks, magnetic stripe time clocks, RFID (proximity) time clocks, and biometric time clocks.

Depending on what your needs are for you business, and the budget that you have to work with will determine what type of system you will want to get. If you are a smaller company you are not going to want to use a system such as RFID time clock because it will be impractical. This system is often used in bigger systems, I used it when I worked at the IRS. A smaller company would use a basic touch screen computer that they will input their employee number to clock in and out. You can see the difference and the price would be drastically different. So it's important that you know which systems are designed for smaller companies with less than 40 employees, if that is what you have.

Spending the money on this system will dramatically increase your business in many aspects, and you can expect a ROI fairly quickly because of the benefits of using this attendance employee time tracking software.
